It’s my fourth Mother’s Day as a mom and I tell you what, I’m thankful. I’m thankful for deja vu (I was my mom’s “Mother’s Day present” since I was born the Saturday before Mother’s Day and fast forward almost 34 years later, my son was born the Saturday before Mother’s Day). I’m grateful to be a mom of healthy, beautiful boys. I’m thankful that my mom is around to celebrate with me. I’m grateful for our awesome mother/daughter relationship; that she’s a mom first but always a friend. I’m thankful for my mother-in-law, who is more like a second mom to me. After hearing so many in-law horror stories, I’m so glad we’re more mother/daughter instead of frenemy/outlaw.

Anyway, I feel like I’m rambling, so I said all this to say, life is great. My family tells and shows me how much I mean to them year round, but Mother’s Day is always extra-special, especially now that I’m a mom. So I’m going to keep celebrating my loves because time is fleeting and you never want to take your loved ones for granted. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmothers, auntie-moms, godmothers, sisters and mother-figures out there! You are special and you are loved!

Happy Mother's Day
