One thing that I’ve been consistently working on is trying to be better with my budget. For the most part, it’s working even though I do fall off the wagon from time to time. So now, I’m expanding my frugality to my business – hence, quick tips and tricks to plan a great event on a tight budget.
Leah’s Tip: Have your wedding during the off-peak season. I used this tip when planning my wedding and it typically works best with your venue selection. Because I opted for a winter wedding, my venue was a great price. Now, off-season differs regionally. I’m in the Georgia and for us, peak season usually starts around April and ends in November. When I lived in Illinois, off-season was whenever the first snow hit the ground until it melted, lol! In regions where it is typically sunny year-round (Florida, parts of California), off-season is usually the summer months of July-August. A twist to “off-peak” is to have your wedding on a day other than Saturday or have it on a holiday. This move can yield nice discounts on just about any vendor from venue to catering to florals. And with the money you save, you can upgrade your honeymoon!
